Ayra Starr Shares Secret To How She Deals With Internet Trolls

Nigerian music sensation, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, professionally known as the Sabi Girl Ayra Starr has recently opened up about her approach to dealing with social media trolls.

While in an exclusive interview on Cool FM, the “Rush” hit maker, known for her chart-topping hits, and the popularity surrounding her revealed that she instead of over reacting invokes her laid-back attitude towards any form of negativeity or demeaning comments said on her on social media, emphasizing that she simply lets them be.

“I read stuff and I see stuff, and if it’s bad, I just let them be. I feel like I’m in my ‘let them be’ era and stage. But if it’s stupid, I just block,” she said.

Ayra also added that she has come a long way, and has come to understand how social media works better over time. She additionally touched on the occasional moments of responding to trolls, saying that it was more for fun and entertainment than a result of anger.

“I’ve grown so much, and I know that my attention gives things value, so I don’t rate people.

“I feel like I had an era on Twitter just three months ago where I was responding to trolls. Not because I was angry, I was just having fun. I was on my bed with my legs in the sky responding to them. I just let them and I don’t keep things in my mind because I won’t remember in like three hours,” she added.

While on the same interview, the Mavin star also let in listeners on the detail that she has her GRAMMYs outfit and speech ready as she was nominated in the 66th ceremony of the awards show that will be happening this February 5th in the category of ‘Best African Song Performance’ in which her song “Rush” was nominated.
