Bolt Bans Driver for allegedly robbing, assaulting female passenger

Bolt Tanzania has reportedly banned one of its driver for allegedly assaulting and robbing a female passenger.

Reports monitored by African Entertainment in a number of local media outlets in Tanzania said Bolt Tanzania announced the ban of the said driver in a statement.

One of Tanzania’s leading media outlets, The Citizen quoted Bolt Tanzania as saying “Kindly note that this driver does not deserve to be on our platform, to maintain safety, we have blocked him indefinitely.”

Bolt Tanzania noted that “As an apology I would like to compensate you with 2 promo codes worth Sh20,000 to be used for your next rides.”

Reports say a  widely shared social media post detailed by a young woman who identified herself as Sara indicated that she was left with multiple injuries after she refused to pay more money than the price displayed on the app at the end of her ride from Masaki.

Sara reportedly said her attempt to escape from an irate Joseph, the driver was futile after he chased her and pushed her to the ground then took all the money that she had in her purse.
