The much anticipated launch of the maiden edition of the Showbiz Excellence Awards, Ghana, has taken place.
On Saturday night, May 1, 2021, a number of television personalities, musicians, models converged on the Hardish Lounge in Accra for the official launch of the awards.
About 30 models, musicians, television producers and hosts, are expected to be honored during the awards slated for June 26, 2021.
Speaking at the launch, CEO of Magic Entertainment, organizers of the awards, Kelly, stated that the awards scheme seeks to recognize individuals who are contributing immensely to the development of the entertainment industry in Ghana.
The Showbiz Excellence Awards is being organized under the theme: ‘Promoting Showbiz Agenda.
The awards ceremony was initially scheduled for May 29 but due to a planned ban on noisemaking and drumming, the organisers were left with no option but to postpone it.
A nominee needs a minimum of 400 votes to win a category, says the CEO of Magic Entertainment.
