Spain and Morocco are reportedly in a diplomatic standoff over illegal migration.
The standoff, according to multiple local media reports African Entertainment monitored from Morocco, began after thousands of Moroccans took advantage of relaxed border controls on their side on Monday, May 17, 2021 to cross into the Spanish city of Ceuta.
Reports say by this morning, Tuesday, May 18, 2021, an estimated 6,000 people, including some 1,500 teenagers had crossed into Spain “illegally.”
