The Sri Lanka Army’s improvised coronavirus (covid-19) hospital has been set up.

The hospital was set up in Seeduwa, about 20 kilometers away from the capital Colombo, Sri Lanka.

African Entertainment understands the facility is the first-ever biggest COVID-19 Hospital in Sri Lanka.

The President of Sri Lanka, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, is expected to commission the hospital.

Pictures seen by African Entertainment, the hospital showed the health facility equipped with all vital health facilities including emergency treatment unit, isolation sections, resuscitation units, ICU and medical stores.

The hospital was reportedly improvised by the Army in less than a week to be in line with the government’s decision to increase the bed-capacity all over Sri Lanka in the wake of resurgence of the 3rd COVID-19 wave in the country.

Sri Lanka health authorities on Monday, May 17, 2021 reported over 142,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 962 deaths.
