Stonebwoy speaks about Davido’s claims referring to Burna Boy’s A New Cat.

Ghana dancehall musician, Stonebwoy, has reacted on Davido’s controversial interview in which he labelled Burna Boy as a “new cat.”

Stonebwoy, a close friend of Davido, said during an interview with GoldMyne TV that, contrary to what Davido said, Burna Boy is not a “new cat.”

It will be recalled that last week, Davido stirred up debates among Netizens, when he labelled Burna Boy a “new cat” in the industry, putting him in the same category as Rema, Fireboy DML, Mayorkun, and Asake.

While reacting to the statement, Stonebwoy, disagrees with Davido on the status of Burna Boy, claiming that given his history in the field, Burna Boy cannot be regarded as a “new cat” (new artist).

Stonebwoy continued; He claimed to have five years of industry experience while referring to artists like Ruger as “new cats” and leaving Rema out.

He said:

“Burna Boy is not a new cat to me because Burna has been there for more than a decade.

“If Davido said that, I honestly do not believe that he means that outrightly. New cats would be Rema, Ruger them.”

“So, I don’t believe Davido meant that but also if you ask me, I think Wizkid and Davido had have a fair share of international appeal earlier than Burna.”
