I can’t focus on my studies Because of Music – Says Gyakie

Afro-Fusion singer, Jackeline Acheampong, popularly known as Gyakie has stated that she has lost focus on her studies because of her music career.

The “Forever” hitmaker made this known in an interview with BBC Focus on Africa.

The interview was hosted by BBC’s Ghanaian correspondent, Thomas Naadi.

In the interview monitored by African Entertainment, the 21-year-old singer said, “It’s difficult for me balancing my music and my studies at the same time. I am not in one place, I am always moving around the country because of my music.”

Gyakie Is a final-year student studying International Business at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.

She made her appearance on BBC after becoming the first African artist to be featured among other female artists in the world on a billboard at Times Square under the Spotify Equal Initiative.

The Spotify Equal Initiative forms part of the Equal Hub initiative, which was launched in commemoration of International Women’s Day and adds to the audio streaming platform’s effort to extend its global commitment to fostering equity for women in music.
