Citi FM Journalist Caleb Kudah has revealed that he had to deny his Ewe ethnicity to escape more beatings after he was arrested by the National Security for filming their Building.
Caleb made this known while recounting the ordeal he went through in the hands of the National Security in an interview with Bernard Avle on Citi TV points of View.
He said “They were contemplating on who I was, someone suggested I was from Volta, I knew if I had said yes, they would beat me more, I lied I was from Cape Coast so, one of them spoke Fante with me, “he told Bernard Avle on Citi Point of View”.
Caleb Kudah was arrested by the National Security officers on May 11, 2021 after filming the National Security building without permission from the appropriate authorities.
Information gathered by African Entertainment indicates that after the police picked up Caleb for filming the premises, other seven heavily built armed officers also arrested another journalist Zoe Abu-Baidoo, claiming she received files from Caleb Kudah.
According to Citi New’s Anass Seidu, “Caleb Kudah who had visited someone at the National Security was arrested after filming at the premises of the Ministry”.
“After he was arrested, the operatives detected that he had sent whatever he had filmed to another colleague, Zoe Abu-Baidoo. They moved to Citi FM with heavily armed men to arrest Zoe”.
“When they got here, the management of Citi FM and Citi TV joined the team back to the National Security Ministry with Zoe. After some interrogation, Zoe was allowed to leave. Caleb Kudah was being interrogated at the time we left,” he said.
