Sport Bet helped me record my first song –Kweku Flick

 

Fast-rising Ghanaian rapper, Andy Osei Sarfo, popularly known as Kweku Flicks has revealed that he played sport bet to raise funds for his first recording track “Awake”.

According to Kweku Flicks in an interview with Halifax Ansah-Addo on Accra-based radio station Okay FM, monitored by African Entertainment, he had no funding support during the early stage of his career and resulted in staking bet to help him pay for his studio recordings.

“….at the beginning of my career, I had no money and support, so I used to place bets to fund my recording. When I was making my first hit single, ‘Awake,’ I won some bets and used the money to pay for the studio session “, he said.

When asked how he got money to stake the bet, Kwaku Flick disclosed that he used to ask his parents for money for food and used it to stake the bet.
Kweku Flicks since his breakthrough in 2020 has released over 10 hit tracks including, “ Sika Aba Fie”, “No sleeping” “ Money” “ Adwuma N’asi, “ByeBye”,”Awake.”

He currenly has two nomination including New Artiste of the year and Hip-Hop song of the year with hit song “Money” at the 22nd edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2021.
