The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has called for ceasefire in the ongoing violent and deadly clashes between Israel and Palestine.
Mr Macron made the call in a statement sighted by African Entertainment on his verified Facebook page on Thursday night, May 13, 2021.
His follows four days of deadly clashes between Israel and Palestine.
“The spiral of violence in the Middle East must stop,” Macron noted.
Funerals were held earlier on Thursday for victims killed in the clashes from both Palestine and Israel.
Hundreds of rockets have reportedly been fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip.
He said “I strongly call for a ceasefire and for dialogue. I call for calm and peace.”
