Frances McDormand Wins 3rd Oscars Awards

American actress cum movie producer, Frances McDormand, has won her third Oscar awards.

She emerged as the best actress at the 93rd edition of the Oscars awards held on Sunday, April 25, 2021.

The awards ceremony was held at the Union Station Los Angeles, the Dolby Hollywood, and International locations via satellite.
Frances McDormand was keenly contested in the best actress category by Viola Davis – Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Andra Day – The United States vs Billie Holiday, Vanessa Kirby – Pieces of a Woman and Carey Mulligan – Promising Young Woman.
The actress received several reviews for her spectacular performance in the movie Nomadland, leaving her with six nominations.

Frances McDormand won her first Oscar awards as the best actress in the 69th edition in 1996, after she featured in the movie Marge Gunderson in Fargo . She had some strong competition in the category including Diane Keaton, Brenda Blethyn, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Emily Watson.
McDormand earned her second statuette for her role as Mildred Hayes, playing the role of a bereaved mother seeking justice for her murdered daughter in the film Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017). Other nominees included Meryl Streep, Margo Robbie, Saoirse Ronan, and Sally Hawkins.

The 93rd Oscars witnessed other movie personalities being awarded in various categories including, Best picture- Nomadland, Best original screenplay-Promising Young Woman – Emerald Fennell, and Best adapted screenplay The Father – Christopher Hampton, Florian Zeller.
Best animated feature- Soul, Best documentary feature, My Octopus Teacher – Pippa Ehrlich, James Reed and Craig Foster, Best international feature- Another Round (Denmark), Best original song – Fight For You – Judas and the Black Messiah (H.E.R., Dernst Emile II and Tiara Thomas), Best original score-: Soul – Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and Jon Batiste
